DC Temple Lights with New Friends!

We love going to see the Christmas lights at the DC temple each year when we can. They always do such a beautiful job and it is nice to take the girls to see where Mommy & Daddy were married. Jasmine knows this and it is cute to have her excitedly shout it to us every time we take her to the temple.
We planned an FHE with our new and good friends the Durrants for the Monday right before Christmas. It was the only time we could squeeze it in! We went out to each together at Fridays first and then headed up to the temple.
It was so nice to see the lights in the snow. Since there was so much snow, I don't know how many lights were buried underneath it so I felt like we didn't get the full light effect but it was still gorgeous! We watched the nativity for a few minutes and were disappointed that it isn't live anymore - when we were pregnant with Jasmine, we acted as Mary & Joseph and it was very special for us to do that. That is just too bad - it is a very cool thing. We headed inside and took a look at the Nativity Scene display they had. It was cool to see all the different kinds they had and from all the different countries. Here are a few of my favorites...We walked around and looked at all the beautiful Christmas trees and found the one decorated by our stake - which in my opinion is always easy to find because it one of the most opulent. It was very beautiful and right next to the Christus statue. We had a great time together as friends and sharing the joy of the temple festivities as well. The kids seemed to enjoy it also and it was time well spent.

Looks gorgeous.
With all those creches people still think we're not Christian...???
Maybe one year your Stake will go down-market on the tree just to throw you off.
Seriously, would you want to be doing a live Nativity scene in 2 feet of snow? Wouldn't that wreck the illusion a little?
Your friend looks a bit like a young Will Arnett - he's a funny guy!
Ok, I think that's enough for now!
