After a pretty good sleep (though not enough of it), we woke up to a lovely Christmas morning. Jasmine was excited and Ava was in a great mood. We went out to see if Santa had come, and sure enough, he had. We asked Jasmine if she wanted to open gifts first and she said she wanted to eat breakfast first. Lorne and I were shocked but we did as she wished. She must have really been hungry. We had cereal and the adults slowly started waking up as well. They seemed pleased that Jasmine was waiting to open her gifts also as it gave everyone a chance to get something to eat and ease into the gift opening. We let Jasmine and Ava take turns opening their gifts because we wanted to see their reactions. Jasmine had only asked Santa for 2 things for Christmas - a moxie girl and a Sleeping Beauty doll. She opened the Moxie girl first and after taking a quick look and being satisfied that it was what she had asked for, she opened another gift and when it wasn't the Sleeping Beauty doll, she rudely exclaimed, "Where is my Sleeping Beauty doll? Santa better have brought it!"Needless to say, this attitude of entitlement and greed made me upset (it was under the tree, she just hadn't gotten to it yet) and so I sent her to the room we had stayed in until she could have a better attitude.
Ave seemed to be happy with her things and she was very curious about all the new toys. When Jasmine joined us again, she also seemed more interested in Ava's toys. It was hard to keep her away from them so Ava could play. After the gifts, we relaxed a bit more and watched the Mormon Tabernacle choir on TV - they were doing a Christmas special. It was fun to see everyone sitting together and I had to snap a pic.Since we invited my parents and brothers over for Christmas lunch and opening of the gifts we had gotten them at our home, we got ready to leave and packed up the car around noonish.
