Richmond Children's Museum

Before leaving the house to go on a fun adventure, I dressed the girls in similar colors and we took some pictures together - here are my favorites...I read that the Richmond Children's Museum was highly ranked among children's museums in the country so we drove down to Richmond to check it out. After going to the Baltimore Port Discovery Children's Museum I was hoping for a larger place. Alas, it was not larger but it was a neat place anyway.Jasmine had a complete blast doing all of the activities possible and really got into everything. I love watching her have fun, it really makes parenting worthwhile. It will be fun when Ava is a bit older to see her run around after her sister and watch Jasmine play with her.
Jasmine loves interactive activities (I am sure most kids do) and so she really got into all the exhibits. She played with the water features, she got crafty and made a project where she got to practice her new skill - using scissors! She also got to go outside and play in a fun water area they had there. All Ava could do was sit and watch as her sister had all the fun! We sat at the pretend cafe and had Jasmine cook and bring us food. We all had fun with that and she was very specific when it came to who "ate" what. She really loves to play in pretend kitchens. She also tried her hand at mechanic work (I am sure Tio Ryan will be so proud) and also at doing the news and weather. She got Mommy to join her at the news desk too!She got to school Daddy and also be a banker. Finally, she decided that picking apples was to be her trade of choice for the day! After all that work, we checked out the land of the dinosaurs and found both of our little girls hatching from large dino eggs and Jasmine rode a triceratops. Jasmine also dug for fossils. After a few family photos, we called it a day and stopped at Perkins on our way home for some pie. It was a great afternoon and I know we all enjoyed it immensely - even grandfather!

I love the bright colours. That is always one of my measures of a good children's museum, it needs to be bright and look inviting no matter where you go.
