Our First Family Trip as a Family of 4 - Day 1

I really wanted to get out of town so I suggested to Lorne that we take a trip up north to Boston over Memorial Day weekend. He agreed and we decided to make a week out of it and stay some extra days in Boston so Lorne could go into the office in Boston and work a few days.
We left Friday afternoon after the flying up ceremony and headed toward Trenton New Jersey, where we would be staying the night as we had a special treat for Jasmine the next day.
On Saturday, we took Jasmine to Sesame Place which is a cute amusement park for kids that is all Sesame Street themed. It is actually in Pennsylvania about 6 miles away from the hotel we stayed in.Since Jasmine is now 42 inches tall, she was tall enough to ride every single ride in the park and she was super excited. They also have an extensive water park area there but we hadn't brought our swimsuits so we will have to go back another time this summer. We bought a 2 day pass as it cost the same as a 1 day pass so we will be going back to use the second day!Jasmine rode all the rides and Mommy and Daddy took turns riding with her. She really enjoys a good thrill and there wasn't a ride she wouldn't go on. She begged and begged to go to the water park but we kept telling her we forgot our swimsuits and so it was a no go.We also spent time watching all the shows they had. The first one we went to, Elmo's World was a very cute show where they asked for volunteer dancers from the audience to dance like fish. They said the kids had to be 6 years old but Jasmine so badly wanted to do it that Lorne told her to raise her hand and she did. They picked her! She was the smallest child up there but she was by far the best dancer and the most energetic one. We also saw a couple more shows with all the Sesame Street characters in it. Jasmine was really into the shows and it gave us a break out of the hot sun and walking. Even Ava seemed to like the music and she was awake and paid attention.I am afraid there isn't much for a 5 week old infant to do at an amusement park so she mostly rode along in the stroller and slept. I brought her some toys to put on her car seat and she seemed mildly interested in them. We vowed to go back when Ava is old enough to enjoy it also and Jasmine really liked that idea.We really had a nice day and it is always rewarding to see your child have a great time. It is worth it to see the joy and laughter on their faces and give them a memory to cherish.

In the picture of Ava in her carseat, she looks so much like Lorne!
