Viva Las Vegas Day 3

Our last full day in Vegas was just as exciting as the previous ones. We started off the morning with a yummy breakfast of fresh made crepes from an amazing bakery inside the Bellagio called Jean Phillipe Patisserie. Lorne had a Nutella one and I had a lemon and sugar. YUM! We also split a Dulce de Leche pastry that was rich and to die for.One of the things that is standout at this bakery are the cakes. They had amazing cakes on display and I went around and took pics of them for ideas and inspiration. They had the display cakes on revolving motorized shelves so you could get a 360 degree view of each cake. They also have the word's largest chocolate fountain that runs all day and all night and it has all 3 kinds of chocolate - white, milk and dark. Great place - all their stuff looked so good I could spend a month there trying all the different pastries and desserts. Probably the most appetizing and classy bakery I have ever been to. I would love to have a place like this someday. As Neil and Di had some last minute things to take care of, we headed for another walk down the Strip before we arranged to meet them at lunch. We walked to Treasure Island to see the ships and walk around inside. We ended up sacrificing a few more dollars to the Vegas Gods. Here is an interesting fact about the casinos in Vegas. If you are playing and spending money (this can mean a dollar or two on the slots), you get free drinks. As many as you want. Lorne and I got a few Diet Cokes at one place a a few juices at another. When you look at what it would have cost, you either break even (in our case) or make out because you didn't spend as much as the juice would have cost.
At lunch we did the classic Las Vegas buffet. Most every hotel has one and when we read the reviews we were pleasantly surprised to see that the best one was in the Bellagio. We met up with Neil and Di and stuffed ourselves full of the best buffet food I have ever had. The selection was the most prolific I had ever seen and the desserts were not only edible, but good. We ended trying almost every one of them. We shared them among the table so we didn't waste it.Tummies full, we decided it was rest time and so we parted for a few hours to rest and decided to meet at the pool when we were ready. It was perfect weather for swimming as it was hotter than Hades and for some odd reason, quite humid. It almost felt like being at home in Virginia, not in the dry dessert. It must have been a rarity to have that eather there. The pools at the Bellagio are beautiful and warm. It was so Hollywood looking, I felt I was in the lap of luxury. We also spent a little time boiling ourselves in the hot tub. After a bit of water fun and relaxing poolside, we split again to get ready for one more night out on the town together. We walked around to some other hotels that we hadn't been to yet such as Excalibur, New York (where Lorne and I rode the coaster), and the Luxor. These hotels aren't as nice as where we were staying and consequently the type of people there were quite different. I heard a lot more crudeness and swearing and honestly felt a bit uncomfortable. We had tickets to see Jubilee (at Bally's - a classic older Vegas casino), which is classic Vegas showgirl show. We had wanted to see Bette Midler but she wasn't performing that night. There was a bit of female topless nudity, but I didn't find it offensive at all. It wasn't in your face and it was as classy as you can make that sort of thing. The costumes were amazing, the sets were dazzling and the whole production was first class. It was my idea to go but I think everyone was glad we went. After the show, we returned to Bellagio where we sat at some poker machines and lazily played a few bucks, got some free juice and chatted with Neil and Di. It was a very nice evening.

Hey Guys.
Great pictures. Especially appreciate that your camera doesn't make me look as fat as my camera. Hope you're having fun.
