Uncle Neil & Auntie Di Come to Town! Day 1

So, after 6 years being married, we finally had Neil & Di come for a visit. For those of you who may not know, Neil is the oldest of the 4 Campbell brothers. They have been on a whirlwind honeymoon vacation for a few months now (with the wedding taking place in Las Vegas by Elvis - more on that later) and one of his stops was to visit us! Yay!
This was exciting for us because Jasmine rarely gets to see her Australian family and I like to make sure she knows who they are and that they love her. We got Jasmine really excited to see Uncle Neil (Lorne's oldest brother) and his soon to be new wife, her Auntie Di. We all went to the airport to pick them up and had to suffer through delay after delay. They finally arrived around 8 PM and we went off to dinner (without their bags as they didn't make it with them - the airlines brought them later). We also took them on a night driving tour through the city to show them DC at night. We stayed up rather late that night talking and the next morning Jasmine was up early and excited to see her family. Neil and Di came bearing gifts and Jasmine was excited to receive them. They brought her sequined Minnie ears, regular minnie ears, a Cinderella crown and a Cinderella mini doll. I better not forget the giant lollipop she got too! Jasmine immediately wanted to dress up like a princess so we got her all gussied up. She played with her uncle and thanked them for the gifts. Lorne and I also received birthday gifts. I got a Wimbledon backpack and Lorne got a Mickey Cartoon cell.First order in sightseeing was taking them to the Air and Space Museum. This was Jasmine's first visit to the museum and I hadn't been there is years. Much is still the same and some things have been jazzed up a bit. It certainly looks more spacious now that they have moved some things out to the satellite museum out by Dulles Airport. I was happy to see the real first airplane that was flown at Kittyhawk - the guide made a big deal that this was not a replica (like the one in Kittyhawk) but the real deal!Jasmine had a blast running around the museum, making Uncle Neil chase after her. They had an airplane that you could go inside and Jasmine dragged Uncle Neil onto the airplane with her and made him take her 3 times in a row. Uncle Neil was a good sport about it and didn't seem to mind!We walked over to the Capital after the museum and then drove over to Jefferson Memorial. I love some of the pictures I got there of Jasmine with Neil and Di.
After all the DC sightseeing, we went home to pick up Lorne and headed to Manassas for dinner at the City Square. We were happy that my uncle Robert and aunt Susana were able to find time to join us and dine with us. It was an extremely enjoyable time and Jasmine had fun playing with Tia Susana. Some very cute and funny moments were had! The food was delectable as usual - that new chef is a keeper!
