Viva Las Vegas - Arriving Day 1

The view from our room

As I explained in an earlier post, Neil and Di went to Vegas to be married by Elvis. Since we live here in the U S of A, we decided to spend a few days with them in Vegas prior to their wedding. We couldn't actually attend the wedding sadly, because we had to fly to Banff, in Alberta, Canada, the day of their wedding for an Oracle sponsored vacation Lorne won for meeting his quota last year. Also, we couldn't bring Jasmine because she wasn't allowed at any of the Oracle sponsored activities and we didn't think Vegas was appropriate for a 3 year old as we were planning on staying out late and such.
We arranged for my parents to take her for the time we were gone. To our surprise they were not only willing to watch her but they had their own vacation planned during that time so they asked if they could take her with them. I was happy to know she would be having fun with her grandparents and going on her own vacation - to Michigan.
We left on Tuesday the 15th, late in the day and arrived quite late in Vegas. Lorne had arranged for us to stay at the Bellagio, one of the finest hotels in Vegas and Neil and Di were also staying there. This made it easy for us to hook up and spend time together. When we walked into the lobby of the Bellagio, I was in awe of the beauty of this hotel. They had beautiful Italian blown glass flowers that were lit on the ceiling and the size of this place was massive. You could hear the various dings and bells of people playing in the hotel casino, which was just off the main lobby. It was like it's own self contained paradise. Our room did not disappoint and I busily took pictures before we unpacked and ruined the perfect look of the room. Our view was amazing, we looked out over the Bellagio fountains. Their fountains are synchronized to music and do a show every 30 minutes. We were able to tune our TV to the music and watch the show from our room. I loved that. We also had a nice view of Paris, Paris. The only thing I did that night was to go see Neil and Di to say hello (they were already there after a brief visit to Salt Lake) and we chatted until 3 AM.

That's funny Susan.
I'm sure she had a wonderful time with her Grandparents! :-)
I'm looking forward to hearing about it and seeing the pictures.
