We were super happy to have the Child family with us during their last weekend as Virginia residents. It was nice that Jasmine was able to get in some last minute playtime with Ryan and we got to have our last minute snuggles with Sarah. We tried to explain to Jasmine that the Childs were moving and we wouldn't see them for a while and I don't think she quite understood as she is still asking every so often to go and play with Ryan or got to Tio Jeff's house. When Monday morning came and it was time to say goodbye, we were hard pressed to actually let them go. We tried to be brave, we took pictures and watched them go. What they didn't see - me crying as I turned and walked to the door knowing it would be a while before we see them again. Lorne too was feeling the loss and said that they would definitely be missed. It dawned on me very profoundly in that moment how much a part of the fabric of our lives they have been for the last almost 6 years. We had traditions and loads of great memories together. We have been together when all of our current children were born and during tough times too. Truly this family are our eternal friends and have touched our lives in indescribable ways.
We wish the Child family all the joy, love and peace that is available to them in this new and exciting adventure and we hope to see them in 2009 on a fun trip together!
