Mount Vernon-Lee Chamber of Commerce Christmas Party

Occasionally Cake decided to join the local chamber of commerce and we have been members for about a month and a half now. It is great to be a member because they help you with your business and they will be doing our ribbon cutting ceremony when we are ready to open and they also have lots of functions for networking. It is encouraged to do as much business as you can within the chamber and it is great exposure for our little company.
Since Lorne's company is located in Boston and they didn't have a traditional office Christmas party, I decided we would attend the chamber Christmas party and we also decided to be sponsors of the event so that our name and logo would be prevalent and people would get to know our business. The event was held at the Mount Vernon Country Club and we dressed up for a fun couple night out. My brother Rory came and watched Jasmine and she wanted to go with us - you can see it in her face when she insisted we take a picture with her before we left. The party was nice, we met some great people and they seemed to like us! They had a gift exchange and at one point I had snagged the largest box and was excited to open it. I was even caught on film by the local paper and found my picture in the Mount Vernon Voice. Can you find Lorne in the picture? He is there too! Too bad someone else stole it away from me and I ended up with a bronze sun wind ornament. The funniest part was Lorne though. He has the worst luck with these things. He should never go with his instincts - if he wants a gift he should walk away and choose something else. He ended up with a nasty looking fruit cake. I laughed so hard because who eats those? I certainly don't! Luckily for him, there was a nice lady at our table who said she actually loves fruit cake and she made a trade with Lorne. So in the end, Lorne took home some Lindt Milk Chocolate truffles instead of the fruit cake.We had a great time, the dinner was good and we met people in our community who are making a difference and who seemed interested in us and our business. It made me even more excited to be a business owner in Mount Vernon!

Lorne is the far left of the picture. You can't exactly see his face, more or less his side and back!

You look adorable Sabrina! The last pic of you and Lorne is really great!
