Decorating the Christmas Tree

We usually have 2 trees in our house, one fancy themed one upstairs and the family tree downstairs. This year however, since our basement is in disarray, we only put up a tree in the living room. I wanted the whole family to participate so we put up all the family ornaments on the tree. It is always fun to take out the ornaments and remember why they are all special. Some were gifts from loved ones, some we picked up on our various travels, some were wedding gifts and so on. I love looking at all the ornaments and finding their special place on the tree.Some of my favorites are the Mount Vernon ornaments and the White House Ornaments. I don't yet have the whole collection from 2002 (when we were married) to present but I am working on getting them.Jasmine was really into decorating the tree this year and it was fun to watch her put the ornaments on and ask about them. She was so careful not to drop them or mishandle them and she understands that she is not to touch the tree. She wanted to put the start on top and Daddy held her up so she could try but in the end daddy had to secure it. We are so pleased with how it turned out and it makes it even more fun to do it as a family and watch the joy of our little one's face as she gets so excited!
