Jasmine's First Dance Performance

As you all should know by now, Jasmine has been taking dance lessons, tap and ballet, since September. The school she goes to is very good and Jasmine has taken it like a fish to water. She loves going on Saturdays and they have been working on a little tap dance for the holidays since October.

After the Tabaka Christmas party (read previous entry), we went to Lake Braddock Secondary School for their Holiday Showcase. Jasmine's class were scheduled to perform first after the pre-show. The holiday pre-show was excellent. The school has students audition for this special troop and they perform at different events throughout the season. They performed at the Alexandria Tree Lighting and so forth. It was very impressive to see the quality that this school continously pumps out with their shows.
When it was Jasmine's turn she did amazing! She was the only girl in the class that did and knew all the steps and she did it very enthusiastically. I was happy because she had just had a big morning at the party and the show started at 2 PM which is her naptime. We took pictures and video of course. After the show we took pics of the loving people who came to support her - my parents, my grandma and Cindy and Eleana Zarcone. It was so nice that she could have a cheering section and she was so excited to see everyone. We took her out for ice cream at Baskin Robbins (a tradition of my childhood, my parents always took us out for ice cream after a performance) and she had bubble gum flavored ice cream - I think she chose it because it was pink! She was happy and we were so proud of our little star performer!
