You would have never imagined that at the beginning of the summer our little one was scared of the water - she was like a fish in the pool!
This water diverter was one of Jasmine's favorite pasttimes at the park - she loved moving the pieces and rerouting the water!

They have a lot of really fun activities always going on at the lodge too - they had a luau where they gave away the grass skirts and leis and they had hula dancers. Jasmine really got into it and even danced at the end with the dancers!
All the kids at the lodge were carrying around wands and pointing them at things. We found that there was a wand shop where you could buy a wand and then they would activate it and the kids could even go around the lodge in a scavenger hunt. This was not a cheap venture but we just had to buy Jasmine a wand and as you can see, she took to it right away. I am sure we will be getting a letter from Hogwarts soon!

We were invited to 2 events that we attended yesterday. Coincidentally, I made the cake for both events! The first one was the annual picnic for our contractors Rob & Suzanne Kalmin of RJK construction. It was held at Watermelon Park in Berryville VA. It was a very nice place and the food was wonderful. There was a bee problem however. There were so many bees there and they were aggressive - one landed on me and I had a fit and one landed on Jasmine's face and again I had a fit! I felt like I had to keep moving around so they would leave me alone. Jasmine loved being there and Lorne and I took her into the water wading a little bit. She saw some tadpoles and a crawfish and she splashed her feet. She was sad when it was time to leave.
We were also invited to attend the Kensington Arts Theatre's (KAT) 6th annual gala that they hold for fundraising. I was asked to make the cake and I also donated a cookie bouquet and an 8 inch decorated cake that were bid on in a silent auction. It was such an enjoyable night - Kevin and Cindy were there with Kevin running the event and Cindy performing during the evening. It was nice to watch the performers, the food was delicious and compliments rained down on my cake - both looks and taste! It was a very successful evening and we left tired and happy.
For Labor Day weekend we were invited to go to Williamsburg's Great Wolf Lodge with our amazing, best, cool, and fun friends, The Childs. We had a fabulous time. Great Wolf Lodge is this amazing family resort where they have an indoor waterpark so you can go at any time of the year and partake of fun water-filled activities. Jasmine had an absolute blast, she played and played and played. She really enjoyed having Ryan there to play with as well and they were very cute in the water. They had a cool water system that Jasmine spent a lot of time playing with, manipulating the water so it would divert and splash everywhere. It was so neat to watch her truly enjoy the experience and we loved it too! We felt like big kids! The only problem is that we can't go as long at the playing as we used to when we were actually kids! We felt water-logged at the end of the day!
