Annapolis is lovely on an October Saturday

Lorne's Mum went away for the weekend with her friend Ross to visit another friend in Staunton VA named Coral and so we had Dad all to ourselves. We wanted to take him on some fun adventures so on Saturday we took him into Annapolis. Little did we know that they were having a boat show in the harbor and that parking would be impossible and the town would be crowded. Nevertheless, we finally found a spot to park and walked around int he crisp air and sunshine until we found a restaurant to have lunch at.We ate and enjoyed a relaxing lunch and then decided to take a stroll around Annapolis and take in the ambiance. We went into a fudge and candy shop and we bought some sweet treats and we tried to get close to the water but it was difficult since they were having that boat show and it was expensive to get in. We decided we had had enough and walked through the campus of the Naval Academy back to our car. We were quite tired but had a nice and leisurely drive back home where we decided to relax the rest of the evening.

Friday night with the girls

Kellen and Joe Trauger were celebrating 14 years of married bliss so I offered to watch the girls so they could go out for a romantic dinner. It was so fun. Kirsten and Marin came over for dinner and all 3 of them (number includes Jasmine) ate their food and even earned their ice cream and chocolate sauce dessert. They then settled down in the basement to watch a Care Bear Movie together and they looked so cute all cuddled up on the sofa. I had such a nice and relaxing evening with the girls and can't wait to have them over again. Jasmine thoroughly enjoyed it too.

Tia Susana's Birthday Dinner

We wanted to celebrate Tia Susana's birthday with her so we decided to go to the restaurant and have dinner. It was so nice to see her and she was happy that we came. We sat at a big table and enjoyed delicious food as they were also celebrating Oktoberfest at the restaurant. We had a great time and talked up a storm, sang to Tia, and ate the chocolate mousse that I made for her. All in all, a great time was had and I love to celebrate birthdays!

Happy Birthday Tia Susana

Feliz Cumpleanos, Tia Susana. We are so very happy that we were able to spend it with you and celebrate it in a fun way. We love you and always have so much fun with you. We hope that you had a great birthday and that we can celebrate many many more with you.

Ouma and Grandfather come for a Visit

Jasmine does have another set of grandparents that she doesn't get to see too often and they have come for a visit. Lorne's parents, Geraldine and Bruce (known to Jasmine as Ouma and Grandfather) have come all the way from Perth, Western Australia, for a 3 week visit with us. They arrived on Monday and I was happy that I got the house in tip top shape for them.
Jasmine was excited to see them and when they arrived she was a bit apprehensive as she searched her memory, but she quickly warmed up to them and has been having a great time with them. She makes sure to say goodbye every morning before school and after school runs around the house trying to find them and spend time with them.
They brought Jasmine some gifts and she had a great time receiving those. They brought her a hat, a necklace, some earrings from Russia, a baby seal stuffed animal, a whale stuffed animal and a t-shirt that says she is a future inductee of the Women's Hall of Fame. Ouma, being a strong advocate of women's issues and working for the National Association for Women in Australia thought that would be fitting for Jasmine. We look forward to many adventures in the next few weeks and hope they won't stay away too long before their next visit.

Mid-Week Cake

We did this cake Wednesday night and I really like how it turned out. What do you think? It was for the science teacher at the Preschool. We had free range on flavors and decoration.

Crazy Pup

I looked outside to check on Preston and this is what I saw...funny pup! He always finds funny ways to sleep and this time I was fortunate to catch it on camera.
